Old course Hotel, St Andrews
Description:
This project Chamic was appointed to carry out the Internal Down takings work causing minimal disruption to the prestigious live hotel on the world-famous golf course. The works were carried out Monday to Friday and noisy works such as blockwork wall demolition were commenced after 10am as to not disrupt hotel guests.

This was delivered successfully on time, with daily progress meetings with the Main Contractor due to the sensitive nature of a live hotel.

Gylemuir Road, Edinburgh
Description:
This project Chamic was appointed to carry out the demolition/recycling work causing minimal disruption to the adjoining housing. The main works were carried out with our plant including JCB 220 with Hammer Shear attachment, JCB 150 with Hydraulic Hammer and a Mobile Crusher. The full works comprised:
- Full demolition of four accommodation blocks.
- Complete soft strip of all bedrooms/en-suites
- Excavating Foundations
- On site crushing of concrete/brick.
- Sale of 6F2.
- Salvaged/Recycled materials on project 97%
Using a vortex machine to dampen the area during demolition/crushing works this minimised dust and disruption to neighbours and local businesses. This was delivered successfully on time and on budget.

The Johnnie Walker Experience, Edinburgh
Description:
This project Chamic was appointed to carry out the full Asbestos Removal Works and Demolition Enabling Works. Working closely together the Asbestos/Demolition team meticulously planned the works so the project ran smoothly, and areas were available to carry out works, so the programme was met.
The full works comprised:
- Full Licensed Asbestos Removal Works
- Asbestos Removal carried out fully encapsulated under strict conditions.
- Four stage clearance carried out by Analyst.
- Full internal soft strip of eight floors.
- Removal of two lift.
- Removal of 12 escalators.
- All protection works were conducted by Chamic due to the listed building status.
- Installation of temporary lights and fire alarm systems.
This project was in a highly sensitive area situated on Princes Street, Edinburgh Chamic overcame this by housing the Asbestos Decontamination Unit internally and coordinating skips for waste removal on a wait and load basis. This was all taken on board at the planning stage allowing the project to be handed over on time and within budget.

Description:
Removal and disposal of asbestos containing materials from various locations within the building located on George Street. The City Centre location meant Chamic had to house the decontamination facilities internally and co-ordinated skips for waste removal on a wait and load basis in the early hours prior to offices and shops opening.

Description:
Removal and disposal of asbestos containing materials from various locations within the listed building prior to commencement of the refurbishment work.
Various items had to be de-contaminated and preserved for further use within the University Music Department.
The project was within a historic listed building with various items having to be decontaminated and preserved for future use for the University’s prestigious music department.
